GloucesterWow. Great challenging course but gives you chances. Walk the front and buggy the back is my advice. 18th well drivable but the temptation is to smash it. Don’t. IWill come again.
GloucesterPrachtige, goed onderhouden parkland baan. De eerste 11 holes zijn relatief vlak en vanaf hole 12 gaat het de heuvel op. De baan is afwisselend wat betreft hindernissen, doglegs, hoogteverschillen etc. Snelle, moeilijk te lezen greens. Zeer vriendelijke mensen. Clubhuis ziet er netjes uit, de kleedkamers zijn het dieptepunt van de baan (niet meer dan opberghokken).
We betaalden p.p. 20 BP voor een ronde, zeg € 25, een schijntje voor een mooie baan. Prijs-kwaliteit: top.

Courses at The Gloucester Golf Club
Gloucester
18 holesThe present golf course was envisaged by Mr Barry Peacey in 1969, to be located on the eastern slopes of Robinswood Hill. At that time, an area of some 250 acres was defined and Mr John Day, a golf course architect from Kent, was tasked with providing proposals for an 18-hole golf course. The final layout of the course was very similar to that in use today. Detailed planning permission was granted in 1970. Development continued until 1975 when Mr Peacey decided to sell. The complex was purchased by Mr G Lewis who continued development of the golf course which was officially opened for play in 1976. In 2006 the course was lengthened to 5,969 meters by extending 13th and 14th holes into par 5s which is how you see it today.
