Liphook Golf Club was founded in 1921. The first nine holes on the north side of the Portsmouth Road were open for play in September 1922, in 1923 the full 18 holes opened.
After opening the course was soon recognised by the R&A as an exemplary inland heathland course and is also an early example of strategic design for golf courses.
The course measures a challenging 6,523 yards from the championship tees and 6,317 yards from the medal tees.
Because of the tight fairways that are lined with heather, gorse and trees, accuracy is necessary. Besides your tee shots, you also need to be careful with the greens which are true and fast with subtle breaks and borrows.
