Before playing next door at the 11 x Australian PGA host course Palmer Coolum tomorrow morning, the old Hyatt Regency, I decided to play the public Mt. Coolum course, and I was very surprised at the quality of the layout.
The course has a fairly up and back nature to it with the separation of the course occurring as the Maroochy river runs throughout, fairways were ace and yes considering the rain they had prior to my visit it's come up Donald Trumps!
Greens were surprisingly quick and putts within 6 ft. were still deceptively tricky.
Amen corner was a treat, where two par 5's and a par 3 wind around beautiful water hazards!
With the backdrop of the mighty Mt. Coolum national park, the course has amazing views back toward it.
If you're looking for a fun course on the Sunny Coast, definitely drop by.
