Golf in Tyrol
Tyrol is a state in the most western part of Austria and borders to Italy, Lichtenstein and Germany. Tyrol is famous for its outdoor activities both in winter and summer time. With more than 500 peaks of 3,000 meters and higher, Tyrol is a dream for skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts. When the snow is gone, lush green meadows come out with hiking trails that lead to high peaks and mountain huts, making the region equally interesting in warmer weather. The climate in Tyrol is influenced by the Mediterranean Sea, the European continent and the North Atlantic Ocean. It is regularly sunny in the winter months but it can be cloudy in the summer. Heavy rain showers might take you by surprise, so make sure to bring your rain gear with you on walks or on the golf course. When we visited Tyrol in May, we had nothing but good weather during our stay by the way! The temperature in the summer months is between 15 and 25 degrees Celsius. The winter season in Tyrol can start as early as October and sometimes lasts until early May. As mentioned before golf in Tyrol is great. There is a great variety of golf courses in Tyrol and most of them have the joy of offering you spectacular views of the surrounding Alps. There is a good mix of golf courses that are located in the valley as well as alpine golf courses that are a real test for your stamina! One of the absolute top courses in Tyrol is Golf Eichenheim, which is located very near Kitzbuhel. The course was designed by the famous Kyle Phillips who is well known for his great designs like The Grove and Kingsbarnes and his remodeling of Valderrama. At Eichenheim Phillips did another great job in building a very versatile golf course. At Eichenheim he followed the natural rolling landscape which has resulted in a nicely flowing golf course. The 482 meter long par-5 third hole drops down more than 50 meters from tee to fairway and must be the most photographed hole in the area. Mieminger Plateau is another great golf course in Tyrol. The course is conveniently located only 35 minutes from Innsbruck airport. Imposing mountains are all around you at this pine tree lined course. The mountains are so close and so steep that you almost get the idea that where the course stops, the mountains start. A really impressive view and course. Both of these courses are Golf Alpin partner clubs. Golf Alpin (https://www.golf-alpin.at/en/) offers a golf card that is valid for every one of the more than 40 Golf Alpin partner golfclubs in Tyrol and SalzburgerLand. The Golf Alpin card gives you great benefits and can be bought at every Golf Alpin club or Golf Alpin partner hotels. If you decide to take a days rest of visiting Tyrol's golf courses, there is much to do in the area. Whether it's visiting one of the many great restaurants serving local cuisine, tasting a slice of Tyrol’s history and culture in theaters, museums, or fine art exhibitions or doing some shopping for unique local products in boutiques in Tyrol's smaller towns and villages, you surely won't be bored!

Nach einem herzlichen Empfang durch Dominik Kremper starteten wir in 3 Flights und hatten einen tollen Golftag. Meine Bewertung vom Vorjahr kann ich nur bestätigen. Ich spiele immer wieder ger…

Golfclub Seefeld Reith
Nice little 9 hole village course in the heart of Seefeld. Our welcome at the clubhouse was friendly and we were able to tee-off 10 minutes later. Course can be played in 90 minutes so ideal for some quick 9 holes. The first two holes are probably the toughest of the course. Especially the second is a cool, but tough par 3 which needs a carry of 150 meters to reach the gr…

Golfpark Mieminger Plateau

Golfpark Mieminger Plateau
I absolutely loved this course. Facilities are awesome. I have a thing for grass tees, so it's very nice to warm up that way. Service was also great, I came with a campervan and they even offered me to stay on the premises for 1 night! The course really impressed me. It is characterized by the high trees on both sides of the fairway. That in combination with the views o…
