Iceland

Golf in Iceland is an adventure you will remember for a lifetime. Just think of playing a round of golf at midnight during the Midsummer Night, also known as Jónsmessa. Many golf courses in Iceland are surrounded by lava fields, sweeping mountains and provide majestic ocean views and - if you are lucky - some nearby geysers.

Brautarholt is a 12holes (9+3) course, situated just north of Reykjavik, on the coast. The location is magic, holes facing the sea, swirling through a lava field, with seabirds flying over your head. Maintenance of the course is splendid, greens are exceptionally beautiful. Teeing of at the 1st is an experience, the long par 3 5th over the beach magnificent. Short, golf p…

Grafarholt was designed in 1934. It's name comes from the farm that was on the land at the beginning of the 20th century. It is a private club, where members register when they arrive, electronically on a screen to give proof that they have shown to play. They do not need to pay for the round since it's included in the membership. Having the city of Reykjavík in the b…

Play golf in Iceland

Midnight golf is available in summer due to Iceland’s northerly location, and one-tenth of Iceland’s surface is adorned with lava. Many Icelandic golf courses follow the contours of the naturally dramatic landscape. In total there are 38 golf clubs on Iceland. The best golf courses on Iceland are: Golfklúbbur Vestmannaeyja (also known as Westman Island), Akureyri Golf Club and Golfklúbburinn Brautarholti. Iceland does not have real golf resorts. Best option is to stay in a hotel in the capital of Iceland, Reykjavik. Iceland is easy to reach via Keflavik International Airport, the main airport in Iceland. Keflavik connects to different travel destinations between Europe and North America. It's also a popular stop-over location.
