Golf in Vilamoura

Vilamoura is unlike any other Portuguese town. You will not find any charm or history here, but you will find great golf courses, golf resorts, modern hotels, gourmet restaurants and chic bars. There are some nice and pristine beaches like Praia da Falésia or Praia de Vilamoura. It is no surprise that Vilamoura is a perfect golf destination. There are 16 in and around Vilamoura. There are many great golf resorts in Vilamoura. Quinta do Lago offers the Magnolia Hotel, which has the Quinta do Lago resort right on its doorstep. Quinta do Lago offers three golf courses. The South course is the oldest (1974), Laranjal opened in 2009 and the North course was the latest addition. Vale do Lobo offers two golf courses. The Ocean and Royal Courses are world renowned and are home to some of the most iconic holes and golfing views in Europe. The Vilamoura area is often referred to as the Golden Triangle of golf in the Algarve. Why? Well, there is an abundance of luxury accommodation and golf resorts, it offers some of the best golf courses in the Algarve, there are some lovely beaches and it is very close to Faro airport. The best Vilamoura golf clubs are Oceânico Faldo Course, Quinta do Lago and Victoria Golf Course - Dom Pedro Golf. All of these golf courses are located within 23 km from Vilamoura.
