Dieser von Tom Fazio entworfene, 72-Par-Platz mit einer Länge von 7.060 Yards bietet einen atemberaubenden Blick auf das Karibische Meer. Leider ist das Layout wenig einfallsreich, die Spielbahnen breit und ohne interessante Herausforderungen. Die Platzbedingungen hingegen sind hervorragend und die Greens ultraschnell und kaum zu lesen. Auch die obligatorischen Caddys können Ihnen den natürlichen Graswuchs (Graining) eines Grüns (im Sandy Lane CC immer gegen das Meer) angeben, aber die Geschwindigkeit richtig zu dosieren bleibt eine Herausforderungen. Die drei Golfplätze von Sandy Lane werden durch eine 411 m lange Doppel Driving Range, einen Übungsbunker und ein Putting Grün vervollständigt Falls Sie noch nach einer Steigerung der Karibischen Golf Dekadenz streben, so währe dann wohl der „berühmte“ Green Monkey Platz das Ziel der Träume. (4er Flight ab 4.000 $). Alternativ hält der in der Nachbarschaft gelegene Appes Hill Golfclub wohl die schönsten Ausblicke über Barbados für $ 400 Greenfee bereit. Sie haben die Wahl. Unfortunately, the layout is unimaginative, with wide fairways and no interesting challenges. The course conditions, on the other hand, are excellent, and the greens are ultra-fast and difficult to read. The mandatory caddies can also tell you the natural grain of a green (always towards the sea at Sandy Lane CC), but getting the speed right remains a challenge. The three golf courses at Sandy Lane are complemented by a 411-meter-long double driving range, a practice bunker, and a putting green. If you are still looking to increase your Caribbean golf decadence, then the “famous” Green Monkey course would be the destination of your dreams. (4-player flight from $4,000). Alternatively, the nearby Appes Hill Golf Club offers what are arguably the most beautiful views in Barbados for a $400 green fee. The choice is yours.

Le SANDY LANE GOLF CLUB est un beau parcours. Les 18 trous ne sont pas très variés et se ressemblent un peu tous malheureusement. Mais l’entretien est parfait et les installations au top. On ne peut pas jouer le GREEN MONKEY COURSE sauf à débourser 4.000$ pour un départ à 4 (1000$ par personne donc) ou bien de rester à l’hôtel (environ 2000$ la chambre mais le GREEN FEE passe à 400$).

When abroad I love to play and to get the chance to play sandy lane has always been one on the list for me.

I didn’t play the green monkey as that was way out of my price range but I did get to play the country club which was fantastic, as I was staying in a villa on the estate I was able to get a small discount but very little helps.

The course itself was just stunning. I hired clubs from the course, take your own to save a few dollars but the club hire was around 50 US, you also have to have a caddy which again is 50US but was worth the money not only for their knowledge but their advice. I was lucky enough to take my son who my caddy Dane gave some tuition to on the course.

For me the caddies opinion is so good he taught me to play proper shots and don’t be afraid!

As for the course itself what a venue with occasional views of the sea and of course the monkeys which are always around.

For me great value we played early morning and it was like millionaires golf!

Can’t wait to go back.

Inderdaad een old course. Positiekeuze is van belang i.v.m. doglegs aanspelen green of vermijden van bomen. Par 3 de diepte in is inschatten hoever bal vliegt/valt (het is een korte hole).

Leuke afwisselende baan greens moeilijk te lezen (grain) en de pin aanvallen i.p.v. korter laten landen.

Bunkers hebben wel iets meer onderhoud nodig.

Mooiste baan in de regio. Gespeeld 2 weken voor de worldcup. Moeilijk, uitdagend, spannend en in perfecte conditie. baan die het meer dan waard is. Neem een caddie voor een goede score. Onmisbaar. Een beleving op zich.
