Everything about the golf clubs in Buckinghamshire
Buckinghamshire is a county that golfers more often pass through than stop in, but those who do stop discover a region with a surprisingly strong golf offering set in one of England's most attractive landscapes. The Chiltern Hills run through the heart of the county, providing a rolling wooded backdrop for courses that consistently impress with their conditioning and design. Woburn Golf Club is the undisputed headline act — three courses set in the Duke of Bedford's private forest, all of them beautifully conditioned and the Marquess Course regularly cited as one of the finest parkland layouts in England. Stoke Park Club in Stoke Poges is the historical counterpart: a course founded in 1908 in the grounds of a Grade I listed mansion, memorable to many as the location of the famous golf scene in Goldfinger. The Oxfordshire Golf Club near Thame combines an excellent course with a resort setting that draws visitors from London year-round. Buckinghamshire is accessible via London Heathrow or London Luton Airport, both close to the county. Most top courses are within an hour of central London. Greenfees are steep at the top venues but reasonable at the many excellent alternatives. Browse all Buckinghamshire golf courses on Leading Courses and plan your next golf trip.
