Golf in Staffordshire
The best golf clubs in Staffordshire are located just above Birmingham, dotted around the Cannock Chase national park. When visiting Staffordshire for a golf break, then make sure to at least play at the following Staffordshire golf courses: Little Aston Golf Club, Beau Desert Golf Club, Enville Golf Club (offering two decent courses), Trentham Golf Club - dating back to 1894 - which also one of the oldest golf clubs in Staffordshire and JCB Golf & Country Club. JCB is a fairly new and private course, which was a vision of Lord Bamford, Chairman of the iconic construction and agricultural equipment manufacturer - JCB. Staffordshire is famous for its unspoiled nature (Peak District and Cannock Chase), the Alton Towers theme park, Shugborough house and Stoke-on-Trent's famous potteries, such as Wedgwood & Portmeirion. When you want to reach Staffordshire by air, then Birmingham Airport, Manchester Airport and East Midlands Airport are all within 50 miles of Staffordshire. Staffordshire has excellent rail connections to the rest of the country, particularly the West Coast Main Line which links Stoke-on-Trent, Stafford, and Lichfield to major cities like Manchester, Birmingham, and London.

JCB Golf & Country Club
Joseph Cyril Bamford founded JCB in 1945 with a can-do spirit. Today, there are 22 global factories manufacturing over 300 types of machinery. The company is successful enough that in the UK, the company name is used as a generic term for excavators and diggers. I once knew a golfer who took such prodigious divots with his 5 wood that he was called JCB! Given the scale of…

JCB Golf & Country Club
JCB feels like a cross between high-end Spanish venues and American country club golf from the moment the barrier rises after the friendly welcome at its gatehouse. Lord Bamford opted into golf to expand knowledge of his brand further across the world and business partners make up many of the majority corporate membership. One of our quartet has been enrolled for some…

But if you're up for the challenge, it's a memorable and historic course in a beautiful setting. Plus, there's a unique putting green in front of the clubhouse where you'll want to b…

Little Aston Golf Club
Bunkers, bunkers everywhere. An excellent course for low handicappers playing competitive golf but I certainly couldn’t play here everyday, far too many long par 4’s, all riddled with fairway & greenside bunkers. Excellent design, well maintained & very challenging course but not one I’d describe as lots of fun. Stroke index 18 is a par 3 of nearly 200 yards! Wonderful pu…
